Thortek Space Operations launch vehicle family is designed to provide breakthrough advances in cost and time-to-launch while providing a very reliable launch service. The primary design driver is and will remain cost. We recognize that nothing is more important than getting our customer’s spacecraft safely to its intended destination at the lowest cost. We will achieve our cost objectives by designing a vehicle where vehicle performance is secondary to manufacturing and launch operation processing costs.

Our family of launch vehicles is unique in that we intend to air-launch our expendable, pump-fed, single-rocket-stage-to-orbit vehicles. Our vehicles utilize only two commodities, hydrogen and oxygen, which also produce the greatest specific impulse of any common propellants. To reduce development cost, we intend to initially utilize existing LOX-LH2 engines, the J2-S.

The four founders of TSO have 125 years of accumulative experience in the launch vehicle business while employed as Sr. Management at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center and the Kennedy Space Center.
